dc.description.abstractA Gastrite Atrófica Autoimune (GAA) é uma patologia crônica caracterizada pela destruição das células parietais do estômago, responsáveis pela secreção do ácido gástrico e do fator intrínseco, substância essencial para a absorção de vitamina B12. A deficiência do fator intrínseco compromete a absorção da vitamina B12, favorecendo o desenvolvimento da anemia perniciosa (AP), uma anemia megaloblástica associada a alterações hematológicas, neurológicas e gastrointestinais. Esse estudo aborda os mecanismos fisiopatológicos envolvidos na relação entre GAA e a AP, destacando fatores genéticos, ambientais e nutricionais que contribuem para a progressão da doença. Também são debatidas as principais manifestações clínicas, complicações sistêmicas e alterações laboratoriais observadas nos pacientes com AP. Além disso, evidencia-se a importância do diagnóstico precoce e diferencial, utilizando exames laboratoriais, sorológicos e histológicos para prevenir complicações irreversíveis e melhorar a qualidade de vida dos pacientes. O estudo ainda destaca a atuação do Biomédico no diagnóstico laboratorial, monitoramento clínico e acompanhamento nutricional dos pacientes acometidos com essas patologias. Foi utilizada para este estudo uma pesquisa exploratória e qualitativa, com levantamento bibliográfico em plataformas científicas como Biblioteca Virtual da USP, National Library of Medicine (PubMed), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), entre os anos de 2014 a 2025.
dc.description.resumoAutoimmune Atrophic Gastritis (AAG) is a chronic pathology characterized by the destruction of the parietal cells of the stomach, responsible for the secretion of gastric acid and intrinsic factor, a substance essential for the absorption of vitamin B12. This deficiency of intrinsic factor compromises vitamin absorption, favoring the development of pernicious anemia, a megaloblastic anemia associated with hematological, neurological, and gastrointestinal alterations. This study addresses the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the relationship between AAG and PsA, highlighting genetic, environmental, and nutritional factors that contribute to the progression of the disease. The main clinical manifestations, systemic complications, and laboratory alterations observed in patients are also discussed. Furthermore, the importance of early and differential diagnosis is highlighted, using laboratory, serological, and histological tests to prevent irreversible complications and improve the quality of life of patients. The study also emphasizes the role of the Biomedical professional in the laboratory diagnosis, clinical monitoring, and nutritional follow-up of patients affected by these pathologies. This study employed an exploratory and qualitative research approach, with a bibliographic survey conducted on scientific platforms such as the USP Virtual Library, the National Library of Medicine (PubMed), the Virtual Health Library (BVS), and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), covering the years 2014 to 2025.EN
