| dc.description.resumo | Skin aging is a complex and multifactorial biological process triggered by the synergistic interaction between intrinsic and extrinsic factors, culminating in collagen fragmentation, elastosis, and qualitative degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM). In this scenario, regenerative aesthetics emerges as a disruptive evolution, shifting from merely volumetric and corrective approaches to biologically oriented strategies aimed at restoring tissue functionality and homeostasis through endogenous pathways. This study aimed to analyze the applicability, mechanisms of action, efficacy, and limitations of new therapies applied to regenerative aesthetics, highlighting their contributions to the rejuvenation and psychosocial well-being of patients. Methodologically, an exploratory literature review with a qualitative approach was conducted. Data collection occurred between the second semester of 2025 and the first semester of 2026 across scientific databases such as PubMed, SciELO, BVS, and Oxford Academic, screening articles published between 2016 and 2026. The results demonstrate that particulate biostimulators (PLLA, PDLLA, CaHA, and PCL) act as bioactive scaffolds that induce a controlled innate immune response, macrophage recruitment, and subsequent structured neocollagenesis, featuring a functional reparative remodeling. In contrast, hyaluronic acid acts essentially as a transient biological modulator of the dermal microenvironment. Polydioxanone (PDO) threads promote focal mechano-biological remodeling via mechanotransduction, whereas biological bioregenerators as exosomes, polynucleotides (PDRN), and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), represent cell-signaling therapies that regulate inflammation, oxidative stress, and angiogenesis, despite facing hurdles in clinical protocol standardization. It is concluded that the consolidation of regenerative aesthetics requires scientific rigor and conceptual accuracy, underscoring the critical role of the aesthetic biomedical professional in the ethical, safe, and customized application of these emerging technologies. | EN |
